It appears that Arsenal will need to start the upcoming season without right back Bacary Sagna, the Daily Mirror reports.
The defender suffered a broken right leg during a Premier League showdown with Norwich in early May. The injury was already expected to block him from competing for France in Euro '12 and will now almost definitely cause him to sit until the fall.
This is not the first leg injury to befall Sagna in recent memory. A similar wound in October cost the defender the months of November, December, and January.
Arsenal do have a backup plan in place for Sagna, as Carl Jenkinson is projected to fill the void on the right side until Sagna can return.
Sagna has been a member of Arseanal since 2007. Last season, he notched two goals from the right back spot and continued his impressive streak of 40 or more appearances per campaign.
