Washington Wizards Trade Rumors: Greg Monroe, Beno Udrih, Steve Blake, Luke Ridnour, JJ Barea, Andre Miller Options For John Wall Playoff Run?

The Washington Wizards made it above .500 for the first time in years and now that they are in playoff position in the east, the team is looking to make some moves at the deadline and names like Greg Monroe, Beno Udrih, Steve Blake, Luke Ridnour, JJ Barea and Evan Turner could be options for the team as they try to make a playoff run.

According to Yahoo Sports, the Wizards are looking to make a trade ahead of the playoffs to give John Wall some support at point guard and the team has also been connected to Monroe in rumors coming into February. The Wizards made a deal just before the season started with Emeka Okafor going to the Suns for Marcin Gortat, so they may not have the assets for some of these moves, but they are hoping to add someone at the deadline.

The team has not been in the playoffs for years and with Garrett Temple and Eric Maynor the main backups, the team is hoping to add more talent at the position and names like Blake and Udrih are names that are expected to be on the block at the deadline. ESPN.com reports that the Knicks could look to trade Udrih after he ended up in Mike Woodson's dog house, while Blake and anyone on the Lakers could move with the way they are playing. The Wizards are not hopeful they can get a deal done, but they would love to have some support for Wall as he makes a playoff run this season in the east, as the Wiz are currently the number five seed.

Andre Miller is a name that is available and the Nuggets appear willing to trade him after he had an outburst at head coach Brian Shaw and that could be a move that both sides are motivated to make. The team has options like Will Bynum and JJ Barea, but someone like Blake or Miller would be a better veteran presence for Wall and while Miller had his issues in Denver, coming to a new team could help put all that behind him.

The team comes into the February deadline with a better record than they have had in years and the team is ranked eighth in the league in assists this season. The Wizards would like to keep that up when Wall is off the floor and a backup point guard could be the way to go. The Detroit Pistons may look to trade Monroe and this comes after they fired their head coach and did not sign him to an extension. The Wizards have long fancied him and this might be the perfect deadline to snag a young player like him from Detroit.
