Canada and Norway are playing live on Thursday in the men's hockey tournament and it comes after the United States won already in the preliminary round and the match is streaming on NBC at 12 pm noon from Russia in Sochi and comes with Carey Price getting his first start for the team in his first taste of the Olympics.
The United States won big over Slovakia and they have Slovenia and Russia in their group and Jonathan Quick started over Ryan Miller after Miller was the hero in Vancouver. The Canadian team won the gold medal in that 2010 event and now the teams have the chance to get back to the gold medal game next weekend. The teams in the tournament play each of the three teams in their group and all 12 nations advance to the next round, while the top four will get byes and then the playoffs shake out for the quarters and then the gold medal game will be next Sunday, while the bronze medal will be next Saturday.
Quick comes into the Olympics for the USA as their starter and Price will be first to start for Canada, while Roberto Luongo, who was the hero last time, will start the second game. Team Canada is looking to win another gold medal for their second in a row and Sidney Crosby will lead the way after his goal in the gold medal game four years ago, while Roberto Luongo comes back after making 34 saves in that gold medal game. Price is making his debut in the game at the Olympics and Canada is considered one of the favorites with the United States and Russia will also be in the mix for the gold with Alex Ovechkin leading the way.
