The battle of the Big 12 carries on as several of the conference's teams sit highly ranked in the polls. The Kansas Jayhawks have certainly seen some unexpected struggles this season, but are coming of their best offensive performance to gain momentum going into a tough stretch of Big 12 play. Texas Tech plans on giving the Jayhawks their best effort as a middle-tier team in the league.
Kansas put together a complete game against TCU over the weekend, helping the team gain momentum heading into a big weekend matchup against Texas. Andrew Wiggins and Perry Ellis found their shots against the Horned Frogs as the team accounted for 49 total points in the game proving they can easily bounce back after a tough loss against Kansas State. The Jayhawks shot a season-best 61.5 percent overall against TCU, something the team is hoping to repeat.
The real win with the TCU game is the improvement of Wiggins. The freshman ended his four-game stretch of shooting just 31.4 percent to go 7 of 11 from the field. However, the team did continue to struggle from the three-point line, going just 5 of 19 against the Horned Frogs.
The Red Raiders are hoping homecourt advantage works in their favor. Texas Tech put up their worst defensive performance against Iowa State when they forced just a mere seven turnovers in the game. Iowa State shot 51.9 percent overall while Texas Tech saw their three-game win streak snapped. The Red Raiders have won three of their last four home games ,two of which were over ranked opponents so there is hope they can end a seven-game losing streak to Kansas.
