Brooklyn Nets Rumors: Marcus Thornton Trade Likely, Sacramento Kings Target Jason Terry, Reggie Evans in Deal as LA Lakers, Jordan Hill Negotiations Pick Up at Deadline

The Brooklyn Nets are no strangers to monster trades. The team completed the biggest deal in the summer of 2013 when they acquired Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Jason Terry from the Boston Celtics. The team's season is going well, but not well enough, leaving the Nets front office to consider making one more deal before the approaching trade deadline in just over 24 hours. The Nets are on the verge of completing a monster trade with the Sacramento Kings.

The Kings front office is being aggressive with the approaching deadline and Brooklyn could help them out. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports is reporting the Kings are considering sending Marcus Thornton to the Nets in exchange for Jason Terry and Reggie Evans. The two teams have been in negotiations for a few days not and while no agreement is imminent, they are serious about attempting to make the trade happen.

The move is essentially the swapping of disappointing plays. Thornton is putting up career lows for the Kings. He has struggled in the sixth man role, shooting just 31.8 percent after putting up a true shooting percentage of 54.4 just two seasons ago. Sacramento no longer sees Thornton as a future member of the team and Brooklyn is hoping a change in scenery helps the guard get back to his original stats.

Moving Evans is the tough on for the Nets. The forward does not see a ton of playing time but he is the energy coming off the bench and true fan favorite. Terry's game has been dropping off for several seasons now although he can still put down some excellent 3-point shots.

The Nets might not be done with deals if the Kings trade goes through. According to Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders, the Nets are targeting Jordan Hill from the Lakers and are willing to give up a second round pick and a traded player exception. The Nets are in need of size after losing Brook Lopez for the season to a foot injury. Hill would represent size and is a rebounding machine that could be a big help from Brooklyn.

This deal makes more sense than the Sacramento Kings trade. The Lakers are rebuilding and getting a draft pick and player exception could seriously help the team in the future. Brooklyn is serious about making one move before Feb. 20 it just depends which one they can execute
