Johnny Manziel Draft Rumors: LeBron James Requests Dallas Cowboys Select Quarterback, Tony Romo Seeks Miami Heat Star's Advise as Jerry Jones Confident in QB in 2014

It has been well-documented that LeBron James is a fan of the Dallas Cowboys. A constant presence on the team's sideline, he likely has been disappointed in his team the last few years. As the Cowboys come off yet another disappointment December meltdown, James is offering up his two cents on what the team should do in the upcoming draft while also assisting Tony Romo on his mental state.

James is a fan of potential No. 1 draft pick Johnny Manziel. The quarterback talked to James several times throughout his final college football season and the NBA star brought Manziel on to his Maverick Carter who will represent the former Heisman trophy winner on all endorsement deals that come his way. Now, James is hoping Manziel joins his favorite football team after the draft.

In an interview with the Dallas Morning News, James was asked who he would prefer Dallas draft and he answered Manziel, saying it would be great for the quarterback to stay in Texas. When the reporter mentioned Tony Romo was still with the team, James reiterated that he would like Manziel to play for the Cowboys.

James is not trying to downplay Romo. He and the quarterback have actually spoken numerous times, most recently at Miami's game against the Mavericks. The quarterback was in attendance and James pulled him aside to discuss how to handle the pressures that will come this season.

"Just don't care what everybody thinks," James said, via ESPN.com. "If you care about your craft, and at the end of the day if you went out there and you gave it everything you had and you laid it out on the line for your teammates, you can sleep comfortably at night. Don't watch ESPN and all these so-called 'everyone knows what to do that ain't never put on a uniform, trying to tell you what to do.' It's not about that. I think Tony's at a point now in his career where he's one of the greatest quarterbacks we have in our game because of his work ethic. Nobody woke him up in the morning to go to practice. Nobody told him to go to OTAs. Nobody told him to stay after practice and throw to his receivers. He just goes out there and does it. We all make mistakes, but at the end of the day, if you work on your game, you can live with that."

Romo confirmed the discussion noting he told the Heat star to go win a third championship and he will go do the same for the Cowboys. Despite the mutual love, James remains adamant that Jerry Jones should do whatever it takes to get Manziel.
