The latest news in the Aaron Hernandez case has double murder charges still possible for an unsolved crime that occurred two years ago that may have involved the former tight end, while the neighbors to his flophouse that has gotten attention after the murder of Odin Lloyd have received subpoenas from police ahead of the next court date in June.

Hernandez was in court a while back and was arraigned in superior court on charges of first degree murder. He pleaded not guilty to those charges as well as five other gun charges and now he will get the chance to be back in court and his lawyers may also request bail again after being denied multiple times over the summer. Hernandez is not the only one facing charges in the case, as his girlfriend Shayanna Jenkins, cousin Tanya Singleton as well as two associates in Carlos Ortiz and Ernest Wallace also face charges.

Hernandez was arrested for the murder of Odin Lloyd back in June and that came after the body of the 27-year-old was found in an industrial park near where Hernandez lived in North Attleboro. The week after the body was found dealt with great speculation about whether Hernandez would be arrested or not and after he was, the Patriots immediately released him despite having previously given him a $40 million contract.

At his last hearing for the arraignment, the judge said that a request for bail could come again later and while the defense says the evidence in the case is circumstantial, the state feels they have a strong case against Hernandez. The tight end faces life in prison for the murder charges and even if he is not convicted of murder, a jury could put him away for the weapons charges.

Hernandez's fiancé is also charged in the case with perjury and she will be in court later this month for an arraignment on those charges and the serious nature of the case could mean she gets locked up as well. Her lawyers have said that the charges are overreaching and that she has dealt with abuse from the prosecution. Bristol District Attorney has said that the case could be going on trial within a year, but it is more likely it will be in the fall.

The 23-year-old has been held in jail in Bristol County House of Correction in solitary and he could be given the chance to change his bail status on Wednesday in court. The case has been presented by lawyers as a case that happened after an argument at a nightclub with Lloyd and Hernandez is described as the ringleader of the crime. Court documents showed that Hernandez was texting with Lloyd the night of the murder and that he was seen on video surveillance in his home with a gun on the same night Lloyd was killed.
