Syracuse and Duke are playing live on ESPN Saturday night in an ACC conference college basketball game and the Blue Devils are looking to give the Orange their second loss of the season and the matchup will be streaming from the WatchESPN website at 7 pm ET and is coming from Cameron Indoor Stadium in North Carolina.
Duke comes into the game after a loss against North Carolina and the two teams face off again to finish the season and the Blue Devils are looking to rebound after that game and after the matchup with the number one team in Syracuse, the team has another home game against Virginia Tech. The team comes in with a 21-6 record overall and they are 10-4 in the conference and are scoring 80 points per game, good for 21st in the nation and they are led by freshman phenom Jabari Parker, who is tops on the team in scoring and rebounding.
Duke is shooting nearly 47 percent from the field and they are ranked 50th in the nation in assists per game and Parker is putting up nearly 20 points per contest. Quinn Cook has been playing well and so has Rodney Hood and Cook had 17 points, while Parker had 11 rebounds in the loss against the Tar Heels. The team is allowing less than 70 points per game and they are averaging seven steals per game and heading into the back stretch of the schedule they play against Va Tech, on the road against Wake Forest and then at home against North Carolina to end the season before the ACC tournament.
Virginia and Syracuse are at the top of the conference with 13-1 and 12-1 records, while the Blue Devils are next ahead of the Tar Heels in the standings. Syracuse comes into the game after losing against Boston College to snap their undefeated streak and end their perfect season and the team may have overlooked BC for Duke and after this game the team plays on the road against Maryland. The team is averaging 70 points per game and shooting nearly 50 percent from the floor and they have been great on defense as well, allowing just 60 points per game to rank seventh in the nation.
Syracuse and their defense has been stellar this season and they are averaging over eight steals per game to rank 20th in the nation, while they are also 41st in blocks per game. The team finally lost to BC and set the mark by being the team with the most losses to beat a number one team and now they face off against Maryland, Virginia, Georgia Tech and Florida State after playing Duke. The Cavaliers are in the top of the ACC and that game could decide the conference.
