Ryan Miller Trade Rumors: St. Louis Blues, Chicago Blackhawks, Anaheim Ducks, Minnesota Wild Options For Sabres Goalie?

Ryan Miller has been the most mentioned player in trade talks heading into the NHL trading deadline and some teams like the St. Louis Blues, Chicago Blackhawks, Anaheim Ducks, Minnesota Wild or Detroit Red Wings could jump and make a deal for the Buffalo Sabres goalie.

Miller has long been considered one of the top players to move at the deadline and this comes as he is set to be on the market and while the Sabres wouldn't mind signing him to an extension, the team is in a deep rebuild and could be a seller at the deadline. According to ESPN.com, Miller is on the trading block and with 11 players on the roster heading into free agency, the Sabres are expected to be one of the most active teams at the deadline. Miller is a great goalie and while he is getting older, he still is a high quality player and his record is 15-22-3 with a .923 save percentage and 2.72 goals against average this season.

Miller is a hot name right now and the Minnesota Wild are a team that needs a goalie, as they have Darcy Kuemper and Niklas Backstrom as they head into one of the bnottom spots in the playoffs and that might not be enough to keep things going. The team could look to trade for Miller, but they likely do not want to give up any top prospects, but the Sabres have said they will not simply give away Miller and want to find a "proper trade". Making things tough could be the availability of Cam Ward on the Hurricanes, as he could come at a cheaper price and that could affect the market on Miller.

The St. Louis Blues have long been considered a destination for Miller, but right now the two sides have not started discussing a deal. The Sabres also have Matt Moulson and Steve Ott to consider trading and there are a number of playoff teams that could go after those names as well and this comes after Moulson was traded from the Islanders for Thomas Vanek, another player that could move.

The Blackhawks fit into things in the sense that they could use a backup for Corey Crawford and Miller could suit that very well. The team doesn't need much since they are the defending Stanley Cup champions, but this time around they have Antti Raanta and not Ray Emery as the backup and that could be an issue come playoff time and they could look into Cam Ward or Martin Brodeur as replacements fort Miller if that doesn't go down.
