The Golden State Warriors love come to Madison Square Garden. The last time the team was in town, Stephen Curry put up a record-setting performance when he recorded 54 points while making 11 of his 13 3-point attempts. Now the Warriors return to face a struggling New York Knicks team that is in need of a quality win.
The previous Golden State, New York Knicks matchup was a high-scoring affair as the Knicks pulled out the 109-105 win. Carmelo Anthony scored 35 points in that game before following that up with 62 points against the Charlotte Bobcats. Anthony continues to keep scoring but it is not helping the Knicks get a win. The guard put up 29 points in the loss to the Miami Heat where the defending champs shot 61.8 percent in the second half alone.
The Knicks are hopping to get a scoring boost in this game. Shannon Brown made his debut against the Heat and had six points in 16 minutes. The Knicks plan on increasing his time on the court in hopes of getting past the Warriors. Brown's production makes up for Raymond Felton's disastrous performance following his arrest on weapons charges. The point guard had just two points and five assists.
Golden State is 3-0 against the Knicks since the David Lee trade. He was a fan-favorite with the Knicks and did not play during Curry's high-scoring matchup thanks to a league suspension. He is coming off an 11 points effort in 20 minutes of play against the Chicago Bulls where the Warriors lost after winning four-straight games.
The Knicks need a positive bounce-back win, but might find it hard to get against Golden State. The teams continues to produce a high amount of points which could be hard for New York since has been struggling on both sides of the ball.
