The ongoing conflict in Ukraine involving Russia and military forces will not delay a match between the US men's national soccer team and the Ukrainian team for a World Cup friendly, as the match was moved from Kharkiv to Cyprus after reports said the game would be cancelled.

The match between the United States and Ukraine for the friendly 100 days ahead of the World Cup was scheduled to be played on Wednesday in Kharkiv, but with the political unrest and now military situation developing, reports came out that the game would be cancelled. According to USA Today, the match was moved to Larnaca, Cyprus and the US Soccer organization confirmed the news that the game will be played as scheduled and moved to a new location. The match is important for both sides and for the United States it's a chance for the roster to get another evaluation before Jurgen Klinsmann has to make his final selections.

The United States team has high expectations going into the World Cup in Brazil, but they have a killer group to play against with Ghana, Germany and Portugal and their schedule is by far the worst if any team. The men's national team has to travel more miles than anyone else for their group matches and Klinsmann needs as much evaluation and preparation time as possible.

From official Twitter for U.S. Soccer: On #USAvUKR: "The Football Federation of Ukraine confirmed that their team will travel to Cyprus and the match will proceed as scheduled."
