The NFL free agent class has a new name in D'Qwell Jackson and teams like the Denver Broncos, Arizona Cardinals, Minnesota Vikings, Indianapolis Colts, Tennessee Titans, Miami Dolphins and NY Giants may be interested in the former Cleveland Browns linebacker and he has continued to visit teams ahead of the free agency starts date March 11.
Jackson was released by the Browns in a money saving move and now he is considered one of the top targets on the market and he has met with a number of teams already, including the Dolphins, Broncos and Colts and he also has met with the Titans. The Minnesota Vikings are reportedly interested, while the Arizona Cardinals and Giants were mentioned as possible destinations as well.
Jackson has more visits scheduled and he could end up seeing around 10 teams all together by the time free agency begins. The Dolphins just spent a ton of money on Philip Wheeler and Dannell Ellerbe, but those were signings from Jeff Ireland and the team could be looking to add more at linebacker. Jackson had a fine season in 2013 and the Colts could be a top option, as they have been a bit weak at the position for a few years and could bring Jackson in.
Jackson has a head start for other players in free agency and that could be to his advantage and the Broncos could be another option after meeting with him last week. According to Pro Football Talk, Jackson has met with those teams and is also meeting with the Colts and the Titans and those could be fits as well. Jackson is hoping to play for a playoff team and he comes in after being cut since he was set to get a $4 million bonus in March.
Last season he was tops on the Browns with 139 tackles and with Karlos Dansby a free agent as well, the Arizona Cardinals would be a nice fit. The teams are all angling for Jackson, who could be a veteran presence on defense for all these teams.
