Ravens Draft Rumors: Andre Williams, Tre Mason, Isaiah Crowell RB Options After Ray Rice Arrested, Vonta Leach Released? Ozzie Newsome Seeks Depth in 2014

The running back situation for the Baltimore Ravens might be more uncertain than fans want to admit to themselves. Yes, Ray Rice is still a dominating player in the league, but for how long? After injuries and a recent legal incident, the veteran's future might not be as secure as some may believe. The Ravens have no plans on getting rid of him at the moment, but they do intend on bringing in youth to challenge Rice.

While speaking at his Pro Day for Alabama State, former University of Georgia star Isaiah Crowell said he has been talking with the Baltimore Ravens and will work out for the team in the near future. He told media he has spoken with coach John Harbaugh and the front office several times since the scouting combine. Crowell was SEC freshman of the year in 2011 before he was kicked off the team for multiple team violations. The running back turned a lot of heads at the combine and could be a productive back at the next level.

The interest in a running back for Baltimore comes after Rice's recent arrest. The running back was arrested for simple assault after getting into a fight with his fiancée at a casino in Atlantic City. General manage Ozzie Newsome told media that he was very concerned with the running back, but would let the legal process play out before any sort of punishment is put in place.

"As a league we have a conduct policy and being a member of the league, we will follow that from A to Z. Up until we get to that point, I mean, right now he falls under the personal conduct policy with the league and we will allow the league to take its position before we would have to take any," Newsome said, via ESPN.com.

Rice is expected to participate in offseason programs for the team, but the Ravens are prepping to build depth behind him. The team recently released Vonta Leach, leaving more roster holes. Outside of Crowell, the team could target the likes of Andre Williams or Tre Mason. The Ravens will not use a first-round pick on a back, but expect the team to take one in an early round.
