NY Giants Rumors: Jon Beason Free Agent Priority As Ben Tate, LeGarrette Blount, Donald Brown Options Over Andre Brown and David Wilson?

The NY Giants are heading into the offseason with a number of questions and with Jon Beason set to hit the market without getting hit with the franchise tag, the team just decide how important he is to sign, while Ben Tate, LeGarrette Blount, Knowshon Moreno, Donald Brown and Rashad Jennings could be options at running back over Andre Brown and David Wilson.

The Giants priorities in free agency are on Hakeem Nicks, Jon Beason and Linval Joseph and there is a good chance that the team will be losing at least one of those names. Jerry Reese has about $20 million to work with and a number of his own free agents and with Justin Tuck also hitting the market, the team will have to prioritize what it wants to do. Beason was traded for a seventh round pick during the season and he ended up with 104 tackles and the Giants would like to re-sign him, but at the right price.

Reese is letting Nicks and Tuck hit the free agent market and if they don't end up finding the money they want, there is a chance that they could return to the G-Men. Tuck had a strong season last year and should have some suitors, while Joseph has developed into a very consistent defensive tackle and he will be a tough player to retain. Nicks is coming off of a down year and that could play into Reese's favor, but all signs point to him leaving.

The running back position is an interesting one for the Giants, as the team has Andre Brown as a free agent and David Wilson coming back after a neck injury, meaning they need some new blood in the back field. The team struggled hard in the running game last season and now the free agent class could be the answer for Reese, as it's deep with players that will cost less than some of the top names in the league, including Ben Tate and Rashad Jennings, who each led their teams in rushing last season.

Moreno would be a great snag, but he could end up costing more than the others after he went for over 1,000 yards and 10 touchdowns last season. Donald Brown played behind Trent Richardson and ended up overtaking him as the season wore on and he could be a good fit for the Giants as well, as he is a great pass blocker and that is something the Giants sorely need.
