Indiana State and Wichita State are playing on Sunday for the MVC Tournament title in the finals and the game for the Shockers gives them a chance to be undefeated heading into March Madness and that would be the first time since 1991 that it happened and the matchup is on TV on CBS and streaming online at 2:05 pm ET.
The Shockers have gotten some great play from Ron Baker and Cleanthony Early and he led the team in scoring against Missouri State in the semis and now Fred VanVleet has the chance to lead the team into the tournament undefeated. The team is ranked number two in the nation and this comes after their run to the Final Four last season and they are 33-0 on the year and they come into the game looking to dominate again.
Early comes in leading the team in scoring and rebounding and he is one of the main reasons why the team is undefeated at this point and they have been the story of the year and they should be in line for a number one seed no matter what happens on Sunday. The team comes into the day ranked 69th in scoring with 75 points per game and the are in the top 30 in rebounds per game with nearly 40 per contest, while the defense has been excellent and ranks in the top 10 of the nation. The team has a strong front of experienced players and that will be very important heading into the tournament and many have compared this team with Butler after they made back to back title appearances with Brad Stevens and now Wichita State has the chance to continue things after their great performance last season and the cusp of history this year.
