Borussia Dortmund and Zenit St Petersburg are playing live on the Champions League schedule on Wednesday and the match will be streaming online from FOX from Signal-Iduna-Park at 3:45 pm ET and comes as Dortmund took the first leg 4-2 and now they are looking to advance out of the round of 16 with a good performance in the game.
Dortmund is hoping to have a boost in the match as Marco Reus could be returning and the team is looking to advance after having a solid performance in Russia in the last matchup. Barcelona and Olympiakos could be looming and the match on Wednesday will give the teams a chance to try and get things right ahead of the next round and making it to the quarterfinals would be huge for both sides. Zenit is falling in the Russian Premier Liga and they come in after a loss to CSKA Moscow and a draw before that and now they matchup in the Champions League.
Borussia Dortmund comes in after a loss to Borussia Monchengladbach in Bundesliga play and now they look to get back on track after the first 4-2 victory in the opening leg. The team has matches coming against VfL Wolfsburg in the DFB Pokal Semi-finals and they finish the season against Bayer Leverkusen and Hertha Berlin. The club is second on the standings for the league table, well behind leaders Bayern Munich and no one will be able to catch them this season and Dortmund is one up on Schalke. Robert Lewandowski is leading the team in scoring and he also has six assists and he will be key in the matchup on Wednesday.
Zenit comes in second on their table standings and they are three points behind the leaders and one up on Moscow and now they are looking to at least have a positive performance in the match against Dortmund. Manchester United and Olympiakos are playing on Wednesday as well and that match will be from Old Trafford and Wayne Rooney and company will be looking to get back on top after losing the first leg on the road 2-0 and this will be their last chance to get past and into the next round and it could be a while before they are back, as Man U is in danger of missing qualifying for the first time in years.
Before these matches, Chelsea took hold of Galatasaray after their first leg tie with a 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge and now they are through to the next round. Real Madrid played at home against Schalke and they too made it through after scoring like nine goals in the two games and they will be one of the toughest teams ahead. Paris Saint-Germain defeated Bayer last week and Barcelona ended up on top of Manchester City in their match from Camp Nou.
