Philadelphia Eagles Rumors: DeSean Jackson Trade For Terrelle Pryor To Oakland Raiders Option After QB Asks To Get Traded? Jets, Patriots Interested

The Philadelphia Eagles have been in trade rumors about DeSean Jackson for a week and the Oakland Raiders could be an option for Terrelle Pryor after the Matt Schaub trade went down and that comes after ESPN reported teams like the San Francisco 49ers, New York Jets, Carolina Panthers and New England Patriots have all shown interest in making a deal.

The Eagles have not been actively shopping Jackson, but the league knows they are listening to offers and after the Niners and Patriots made calls, other teams have shown interest, including the Panthers, Raiders and Jets. According to ESPN.com, the Eagles are looking to move Jackson for a third round pick and possibly more picks and while that seems low for a player that has been one of the most productive for the Eagles, Chip Kelly has brought back Jeremy Maclin and Riley Cooper and after adding Darren Sproles he may feel Jackson is expendable.

ESPN Eagles beat writer Kevin Seifert speculates that this could be a power move for Kelly and that if he doesn't want Jackson on the roster, he will get moved, but the team also will not just give him away. Jackson is coming off one of his best seasons and he led the team with 82 catches for 1,332 yards and nine touchdowns and while he was slow to come around to Kelly, he eventually did, but the team could be sick of his off the field antics. Jackson signed a five year extension with the Eagles and he still has $30.5 million left on it, while he will be getting $10.5 million next season.

In the past, receivers of Jackson's caliber have netted some nice packages, as ESPN points out that Roy Williams was traded for first, third and sixth round picks, while Brandon Marshall was traded for two third round picks. Jackson has been very productive in his career and he is a speedy receiver and could be a huge snag for the Niners, Panthers or Raiders, who just added James Jones as a free agent and traded for Matt Schaub from the Texans.

Terrelle Pryor could be an interesting option for the Eagles, as they could trade for him and picks and that would be a solid move for both sides, as Philly may need a new backup for Nick Foles with Michael Vick likely leaving, while the Raiders do not need him after trading for Schaub. The Raiders pulled a move like this last season and traded for Matt Flynn, who was eventually cut and now Pryor and Matt McGloin, who also got starts last season, could be done in Oakland. Schaub comes in after a hard season in Houston and new scene could be huge for him as he tries to bounce back.

The move with Schaub means that head coach Dennis Allen was correct when he said that next year's quarterback is not on the roster yet when the season ended. The team has Terrelle Pryor, Matt McGloin and Trent Edwards on the roster now and Schaub went through a 14-game losing streak with the Texans and he has previously tossed for 4,000 yards three times in his career.
