Chris Bosh continues to stir the pot when it comes to the upcoming free agency run of the Miami Heat's biggest stars. While the team remains focused on winning their third straight championship, the media is focused on what their future plans are. Naturally, many teams will be interested in acquiring Bosh, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade if they opt out of their contracts. While James and Wade remain coy on the situation, Bosh continues to hint at everyone's mindset.
Bosh's latest stance on free agency is that everyone is staying. While speaking on ESPN's The Dan Le Batard Show, Bosh was of course asked by the Miami Herald columnist about the upcoming free agency decision. LeBatard asked Bosh if he will be in Miami next year in which the center responded, "True." When asked if James would also be in Miami next year, Bosh responded, "True."
Now, to read into this and stay it is now a guarantee that both Bosh and James will remain with the Heat is a bit presumptuous. However, Bosh could have easily remained coy like James and Wade have all this time. He could have said that is a decision that will happen after the season. Instead, he did give a definitive answer, giving Heat fans everywhere hope.
Bosh has stated in the past that a championship will play a large factor in what move he makes in free agency. If the Heat win a third straight ring, the center could go elsewhere for a new challenge. If the Heat do not win, the Big 3 could stay together for another run next season. The Miami Herald has also speculated that no one will opt out, instead choosing to finish out their current deals and become free agents next summer.
Other highlights of the interview include Bosh saying the Indiana Pacers are a team priority and he hopes the two meet up in the Eastern Conference finals. Bosh also denied the idea that Carmelo Anthony shoots too much with the New York Knicks. The center says he supports Anthony during the struggling Knicks' season.
Everything regarding Bosh, James and Wade is speculation at best at this point in the season. Bosh has been the only player to really speak on free agency. James denies answering any question about the matter, stating he is simply focused on improving for the postseason run. Numerous teams have already expressed interest in Bosh. The Dallas Mavericks and New York Knicks have been eying the center. Time will tell just how "true" his statements are.
