The Seattle Seahawks are Super Bowl champs and that means they pick at the end of the first round the 2014 NFL draft, but with such a deep class, names like Brandin Cooks, Carlos Hyde, Allen Robinson, Jace Amaro, Bishop Sankey and Marqise Lee could be options to add support in the offense for Russell Wilson, Marshawn Lynch and Percy Harvin.
The Seahawks won the Super Bowl last season on the strength of their defense, but their offense could put up points when they needed to and now that Golden Tate is gone, the team could look to a wideout in the upcoming draft at the end of the first round. Some mock drafts have the team taking Allen Robinson out of Penn State and some other names that could be available includes Brandin Cooks, Marqise Lee as well as other position players like Tre Mason, Bishop Sankey and Jace Amaro.
Sankey is a home town option after he played at Washington and he had a very productive season with 1,870 yards and 20 touchdowns and was third in the nation in rushing. Sankey was very impressive all season and he had three games of over 200 yards and the Seahawks got to see him up close while scouting him in college and ESPN.com reports he could be in the mix for the team in the draft.
The Seahawks have been rumored to be interested in Jermichael Finley on the free agent market and adding an athletic tight end like Amaro could be huge for the offense. The Seahawks come into the draft with six picks overall and one of those was acquired from the Raiders and after winning the Super Bowl they will pick at number 32 in the first round. The team gave up draft picks in the Percy Harvin deal, but they are still in good position heading into the 2014 event and with the way this class is shaping up, they should be able to get a talented player with their top pick. The team doesn't have a third round pick after trading that to the Vikings for Harvin and the Raiders pick comes from the deal for quarterback Matt Flynn.
Austin Seferian-Jenkins could be an interesting option after he played at Washington as well and while Zach Miller has been solid for the team, they could use an upgrade at tight end as well. Jordan Matthews may be available and any type of weapon the team adds to the offense will only benefit Russell Wilson and company. Free agent wise, they have also been connected to Finley at tight end.
The Seahawks may look to offense when the first round pick comes around, as they lost Golden Tate to a free agent deal with the Detroit Lions and names like Kelvin Benjamin and Allen Robinson could be available. The team also could look at running backs, as they don't' have much behind Marshawn Lynch apart from Christine Michael and names like Andre Williams, Carlos Hyde and Bishop Sankey could be available.
