The Michigan Wolverines and Kentucky Wildcats are playing in the Elite 8 on Sunday and the NCAA College Basketball tournament will have the Final Four set and it starts up after 5 pm ET on CBS and the game is streaming online from the March Madness website at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis and this is a prime matchup of two strong schools in the tourney.
The Wolverines come in after a close and controversial win against Tennessee and that came after charge at the end of that game and now the Wolverines come in led by Nik Stauskas and Glenn Robinson, while the young stars of Dakari Johnson, Julius Randle, James Young, Andrew and Aaron Harrison along with Marcus Lee are giving Kentucky their shot and now John Beilein and John Calipari will face off after the Wildcats took down their in-state rivals in Louisville. Michigan comes in scoring 75 points per game and Stauskas has been the most consistent player and he has been great as a sophomore and has been the reason why the losses of Trey Burke to the NBA and Mitch McGary to an injury have not hurt all that much.
Willie Cauley-Stein is out with a left ankle injury for Kentucky and they will need their young players to play above their age on Sunday and a win would put them into the final four against UConn after the team beat Michigan State and now they are a prime national title contender after Shabazz Napier took over as a senior in that matchup. Michigan comes in with a top 50 defense and they are looking to repeat as a Final Four team and in the national title game where they lost last year to Louisville and now that the Cardinals are out, that means a new champion will be crowned this season.
Stauskas averages over 17 points per game and he will be key for the team, while Robinson has been a valuable player and they will be looking to make up for the loss last year to the Cardinals. Michigan won the Big Ten regular season title and lost in the tournament championship and now they matchup against a talented Kentucky team that also won against Wichita State and this is for the midwest bracket and the winner will face off against Wisconsin in the Final Four when that goes down next week.
Kentucky comes into the game scoring over 75 points per contest as well and they were fifth in the nation in rebounding and they have been very impressive since falling off from the preseason number one and now that crazy fan who got a tattoo of the team winning the national championship is still alive for one. The Wildcats played a tight game with the Cardinals and held them off and now they are the highest seed left with Florida in as a one, Wisconsin as a two and now UConn is in as a seven and there will be a two or an eight with the Michigan and Kentucky game.
