Sunderland plays West Ham United on the English Premier League schedule on Monday night and the game is starting up at 3 pm ET and 8 pm local time and streaming from the NBC Sports Live Extra website from the Stadium of Light as the final match for the EPL this week.
Adam Johnson is leading Sunderland in scoring this season and the team comes in after a loss against Liverpool at the Anfield and that came after a shutout against Norwich City and a scoreless draw with Crystal Palace. The club has been struggling mightily this season and despite the close loss to Liverpool, that was their only goal in the past four matches and they have only scored three times in the past eight and before that was their last win against Newcastle at 3-0 and heading down the stretch they can play spoiler with matches against some of the top teams in the Premier League. The team matches up with Man City and Man United at the end of the season and they next hit the road against Tottenham at White Hart Lane after playing West Ham United and that comes before a matchup at home with Everton.
Chelsea was at the top of the table before falling to Crystal Palace on the road and Liverpool took advantage on Sunday with a win and now they are in first place heading into next week. Sunderland plays against Manchester City and Chelsea coming after Everton and then the team plays against Cardiff City and Manchester City before finishing with two matches at home against West Brom and Swansea City. The away games will be very tough and now they are looking to win for the first time in seven tries and they are one point behind Cardiff City at the bottom of the league table, while West Ham United is in 11th position on the league table ahead of Aston Villa.
West Ham United comes into the match after a win against Hull City and before that the team lost at home 2-0 to Manchester United and before that they lost two straight to Stoke City and Everton after winning against Southampton. Liverpool is in first place over Chelsea after their win on Sunday and they are ahead of Manchester City, while Everton, Tottenham and Manchester United are next in the standings ahead of Southampton. West Ham is at 11th on the table and Sunderland is looking to get out of the relegation zone.
