The NCAA Basketball Tournament 2014 national championship game has the Kentucky Wildcats taking on the UConn Huskies and the TV start time for the game in North Texas is at 9:10 pm ET and has UK coming in after their exciting win against the Wisconsin Badgers and Connecticut winning over the Florida Gators for the title game on CBS and UConn has won over Kentucky for the national title.

All the number one seeds have now been eliminated and the Gators were the last ones left and now the championship game has a number eight seed in Kentucky and a number seven in UConn and both teams got hot at the right time. The SEC has a team in the championship game and many thought it would end up being Florida, as they made it through the conference schedule undefeated and they also won the SEC tournament. The Wildcats came into the season as the number one team in the preseason ranks and now they can make good on that promise after getting to their third Final Four in the last four seasons with John Calipari.

Kentucky won by one point against Wisconsin after another three pointer at the end from Aaron Harrison and now they are looking very strong heading into the final game. The team is averaging over 75 points per game this season and they are fifth in the nation in rebounding with Julius Randle leading the way and with the way Harrison is playing, Kentucky looks very tough to beat. Shabazz Napier and DeAndre Daniels have been dominant for the Huskies coming into the championship game and they were key no Saturday night and now UConn has the chance to win again after making their run with Kemba Walker just a few years ago.

UConn has been playing great defense all season and they have averaged less than 65 points allowed coming into the tournament and they have averaged seven steals per game this season. Both teams have size up front and they are each in the top 10 in blocks per game, with the Huskies in eighth with six per game and Kentucky in ninth with about the same. The Wildcats are in the top 20 in rebounds per game on defense and Daniels comes in after putting up a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds and he will be a key player as Randle and Daniels matchup.

Kentucky has shown that youth can win out and now Harrison comes in after some amazing performances and the Wildcats will be without center Willie Cauley-Stein once again and that could be a big loss with Daniels coming in playing so well. Napier has shown that he can take over a game by himself and he had a great stretch in the game against Florida and now he will be one of the main focuses for both sides on Monday night.
