The PGA Tour leaderboard at the Masters has Bubba Watson in the lead on Saturday for the third round and he will be looking to take that first place start into the final day on Sunday at Augusta National at the golf major and he is taking the lead ahead of Jordan Spieth and Jonas Blixt with Americans Rickie Fowler and Matt Kuchar chasing.
The Masters is shaping up to be a close major as things head into the weekend and the final round on Sunday will be missing names like Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson, but Watson has been playing very well and he should be in the mix heading through the weekend. Watson started with an opening round of 69 and was very sharp on the day and he had a great run in his round on Friday with a set of five straight birdies on his back nine and now he has the chance to push his lead on Saturday and it will be without Mickelson, who missed the cut for the first time in over a decade.
Watson gave himself some flexibility with his play on Friday and now he is coming in after winning his green jacket a couple years ago and he could be getting fit for another one by Sunday. Watson started the day with a three stroke lead and he was very strong on the greens as well and he is looking to put things right through on Saturday after his win two years ago and he took the lead from Bill Haas after he was first on the leaderboard after the first round on Thursday.
Rory McIlroy struggled again and with Mickelson out and Woods on the sidelines, Adam Scott and Watson have taken the center stage and they have the chance to win their second jackets. Scott won last year and Watson won back in 2012 and now the two players will be looking towards Saturday and Sunday.
