The NBA playoffs standings heading into the final week of the season has the Indiana Pacers leading the Miami Heat in the eastern conference with the best record, while the San Antonio Spurs are number one over the Oklahoma City Thunder put west and now the final slate of games will determine the seeds on each side heading into the postseason.
Indiana comes in after getting the lead back over the Miami Heat and now they are looking to lock up the number one seed heading into the playoffs, as they felt they could have won last year if they were number one. The Heat and the Pacers have been the best two teams at home in the east this season and in their divisions and they have clinched those titles and the two spots in the east, it now just depends on which one is which heading into the postseason. Miami has won three straight east titles and two straight championships and now they are looking to make it three in a row and they likely will go up against the Pacers in the eastern conference finals.
The Chicago Bulls have moved into third in the conference and they are now ahead of the Toronto Raptors for the time being and they have now clinched the Atlantic division. The Brooklyn Nets are into the playoffs after clinching a spot and they are in ahead of the Washington Wizards, Charlotte Bobcats and Atlanta Hawks, while the NY Knicks missed out after their very disappointing season.
The Spurs have the top seed in the west and they are division winners along with the Oklahoma City Thunder and LA Clippers. The Houston Rockets are fourth in the conference ahead of the Trail Blazers and they are ahead of the Golden State Warriors and Dallas Mavericks in the playoffs. The eighth seed is still up for grabs and Memphis is in position right now over the Phoenix Suns.
