The Los Angeles Dodgers have been hot on the road with much thanks to Adrian Gonzalez's surging bat. Now the team will aim to keep momentum in the team's favor along with Gonzalez's as they face off against the rivals San Francisco Giants at AT&T Park which favors the pitcher over the batter.
Gonzalez has hit four home runs in four games this season, keeping the streak alive on Sunday after knocking out a three-run shot to get the win over the Arizona Diamondbacks. Matt Kemp and Juan Uribe also added to the home run total in the 8-6 win. Gonzalez has 14 RBIs this season, 11 coming in the last four games alone as he has gone 7 for 13 in his past three games while in the midst of a nine-game hit streak.
However, that could end on Tuesday as Gonzalez faces off against Tim Lincecum, a pitcher he has struggled against. Lincecum has his own issues after giving up seven runs in four innings in his second start of the year. He is 4-1 with a 2.55 ERA against the Dodgers while Gonzalez is 11 for 52 with no home runs against the Giants pitchers. Gonzalez is batting 2.10 at San Francisco with home runs in his last 10 road games against the teams. The Giants have only given up 858 home runs since 2000, leading the major leagues in lowest totals.
Josh Beckett takes the mound for the Dodgers, aiming to improve off a lackluster debut. He gave up five runs in four innings in a 7-6 loss to Detroit. He allowed five runs over six innings in his last game against the Giants and is 2-2 with a 3.42 ERA while pitching at AT&T Park.
