NY Yankees TV Schedule: Chicago Cubs Game Start Time For Doubleheader Baseball Wednesday

Apr 15, 2014 05:37 PM EDT

The NY Yankees and Chicago Cubs are playing in an interleague baseball series this week at Yankee Stadium, but the first game was postponed for rain and now the two teams will play a doubleheader in New York on Wednesday to make up for it and it will start up at 1:05 pm ET for the first game and a second at 7:05 pm ET and Masahiro Tanaka is still expected to take the mound at some point for the Yanks.

The teams had hoped to play the game on Tuesday, but with rain in the forecast for the majority of the day and the Cubs not coming back to the Stadium this season, the two sides opted for a day night doubleheader on Wednesday. The Yankees had an off day on Monday after winning against the Boston Red Sox on Sunday night and now they are looking to take the two game series with the Cubs.

The Yankees have been off to a solid start this season, but injuries are starting to pile up and they may be forced to make some trades if things keep going in that direction. Francisco Cervelli has hit the DL again after it also happened last season and now the Yankees have a big void at their backup catcher position. Brian McCann injured his hand last week but luckily the results came back negative and he is not expected to miss any time because of the injury.

Things started turning with the Yankees after Mark Teixeira was injured and that came after he last ready missed nearly all last season after getting wrist surgery. Teixeira suffered a grade 1 strain to his hamstring and while that is not very serious, it was enough for him to hit the DL and now the Yankees have had to mix and match their lineups with him on the mend. Kelly Johnson was forced to move to first base and that put rookies at third base and then after the team lost Cervelli, Carlos Beltran was forced to take over for a hot sec and now the team has brought  up Scott Sizemore from the minors as signed him to a deal.
