LeBron James has been playing great basketball all playoffs. He has silenced fans all over the NBA and the referees have picked up the heat for choking on calls.
Recently however, opposing forward, Serge Ibaka, a defensive guru, has shouted out James saying, "LeBron is not a good defender."
We know what this means now right?
LeBron will have to put on a defensive clinic in Game 4. Or will he?
Ibaka accused him of not being able to cover Kevin Durant on defense. He said, "LeBron can't play (Durant) one-on-one." He then went on to say that the Heat play good defense as a team.
Well, Ibaka makes a great point, which maybe explains why the Oklahoma City Thunder have been losing in these final two games.
The Heat have been playing like a team and there is nothing wrong with that.
Last time I checked, the NBA Finals were not played one-on-one. It is about a team's effort. If LeBron needs help, Shane Battier can pick him up whenever he struggles.
This is another sign of immaturity from the part of Oklahoma City.
If you remember clearly, last year the Heat were laughing at the Mavericks for being sick and annoyed at their excessive on-court celebrations.
The Heat did the talking off the court, while the Mavericks did the playing on the court.
It will be interesting to see how James reacts to these comments. He has provided enough throttle for the Heat in the playoffs.
James is a great defender, but the Heat cannot risk having his energy expended on defense since they rely mostly on his offense.
LeBron has to dismiss the comments and just trust his teammates when Durant slips by him, which is guaranteed to happen a couple of times.
