The Detroit Red Wings and Boston Bruins are playing on the NHL playoffs schedule on Sunday and the matchup starts at 3 pm on NBC and comes after the number eight seeded team upset the number one in a 1-0 win on Friday and now the Bruins will try and bounce back and the game is streaming from NBC on the Sports Live Extra website on April 20.
The Red Wings got the win against the Bruins and now Boston is trying to bounce back to keep the home ice to some extent and now they will have to find a way to get things going after the rough matchup on Friday. Pavel Datsyuk has done it many times in his career and he got things going in the game on Friday to get the win and now Boston may have to make another big comeback and they have already played seven game series in the first round over the past three seasons against lower seeded teams and that could happen again especially if they go down 2-0 after losing both home games.
Game 2 matchups are very important after losing the first game but this situation is even more dire for Boston, as they were the best team in the eastern conference and the NHL this season and they could be facing a 2-0 series deficit with a loss in this game. The teams were about even in shots on goal in the game and now Jimmy Howard will try and do the same as he did in Game 1 against Tuukka Rask and the Bruins are hopeful that the team can get back on track offensively in the game.
The Red Wings played very well and it gave them a 1-0 victory and now they come into the playoffs after averaging 2.6 goals per game and they were 16th in the league in scoring and the same in goals against. The Bruins were on of the most consistent teams in the league and they ranked third in scoring and second in goals against and they were also in the top 10 in both special teams as they were third in power play percentage and eighth in penalty kill percentage and now they need to pull together to avoid going down two games.
