NBA Playoffs Standings 2014: Wizards Take 2-0 Series Lead On Bulls As Pacers, Raptors Even First Round 1-1 Against Hawks and Nets

Apr 23, 2014 09:51 AM EDT

The NBA playoffs standings for the 2014 eastern conference first round has the Wizards in the lead over the Chicago Bulls at 2-0 after their win in overtime on Tuesday night, while the Indiana Pacers and Toronto Raptors each evened up their series against the Brooklyn Nets and the Atlanta Hawks and now things are getting very tight in both conferences heading towards the weekend games.

The Pacers got 27 points from Paul George to lead the way and the team blew out the Hawks after getting beat in Game 1. While many now see the Pacers as getting it together, they have not been a consistent team and now they have to show that they can sustain this. The Raptors won after 30 points from DeMar DeRozan and that came after he was not a factor in game 1, while Joe Johnson scored 18. Bradley Beal added 26 for the Wizards as they won, while DJ Augustin kept the Bulls close, but in overtime Kirk Hinrich missed his first free throw down by two and then tried to miss on purpose to try and get the bucket, as they were down by two with seconds left in OT.

The schedule on Wednesday has three more games on tap and that has the Miami Heat hosting the Charlotte Bobcats and looking to take a 2-0 lead, while the Dallas Mavericks are visiting the San Antonio Spurs and hoping to avoid that same deficit. The Portland Trail Blazers and Houston Rockets played overtime Game 1 and LaMarcus Aldridge was excellent with 46 points and 18 rebounds and that could be another very exciting game. The matchups are on TNT and NBATV and the first matchups has Miami in action. The Thursday games are going to be very good as well, with all those series tied at 1-1.

The Indiana Pacers came back and beat the Hawks to tie it up and they play Game 3 on Thursday, while the Oklahoma City Thunder will visit Memphis after the Grizzlies won that game. The Warriors and Clippers series has also been good and that is tied 1-1 and starts at 10:30 pm on Thursday.

The Tuesday schedule finishes with the Washington Wizards taking on the Chicago Bulls at the United Center at 9:30 pm ET and that will be part of the TNT doubleheader as well and that saw the Wizards win in overtime for a 2-0 series lead. The Wednesday schedule stays with TNT and NBATV and has the Miami Heat and Charlotte Bobcats and that will be at 7 pm ET before the Dallas Mavericks and San Antonio Spurs 8 pm ET. The final game on that night has the Portland Trail Blazers and Houston Rockets and that will be at the Toyota Center and comes at 9:30 pm on TNT and saw the Trail Blazers win in overtime for a 2-0 lead.
