The Oklahoma City Thunder and Memphis Grizzlies are playing game 4 on the NBA playoffs schedule on Saturday night and the matchup is on TV on ESPN and with a live stream online from WatchESPN and it starts up at 9:30 pm ET from the FedExForum and has the Grizz up 2-1 in the first round western conference series and this is a chance for Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook to tie things up in the standings.
The Thunder lost to the Memphis Grizzlies last season in the playoffs and they have won only one of the last six games in Memphis and this matchup is a crucial one after they lost the third game in the series. The Thunder won the first game before losing the next two matchups and Durant has been averaging over 30 points in the series and Russell Westbrook has been playing very well too, scoring over 20 points per game and they will be the main focus for OKC on Saturday night. The Grizzlies were one of the best teams in the league this season and they ranked in the top 10 on defense and they play very well at home and they went 27-14 there this season and both Mike Conley and Randolph have put up some great performances in the series.
Durant missed a chance at the end of Game 3 to get the Thunder in position to win and now the Grizzlies have the chance to take a commanding lead in the series heading into the next matchup in OKC. The Thunder had some rough shooting from three point range in the last game and that is going to be an important area to improve upon, especially for Durant, who was ice cold from long range in that matchup. The Grizzlies play very well against the Thunder and they have now won four of the last six times the two teams have played and the last time OKC won against the Grizzlies in Memphis was back in the 2011 playoffs series and that was in the conference semifinals Game 4 and happened to go for three overtimes.
Memphis also played very well in close games and they went 10-4 this season in games decided by three points or less and that always keeps them in the mix when games stay tight. Kevin Durant scored 30 points last game to lead the team and Westbrook grabbed an impressive 13 rebounds and now the Thunder will have to try and get the rest of their players involved in the mix on offense. The team lost the last game by three in overtime and they come in ranked fifth in the league in scoring and they were ranked in the top 12 in points allowed and this game will likely come down to the end of the fourth quarter.
