NBA Playoffs Standings: Portland Trail Blazers Win Over Houston Rockets For 3-1 Series Lead In West

The Houston Rockets and Portland Trail Blazers series is now 3-1 after the Blazers won Game 4 of the first round matchup 120-123 and now they are in control of the postseason series and it came after the Rockets won Game 3 at the Moda Center and now Game 5 could be the final matchup for both teams, as the Blazers can advance with another victory.

The Rockets got within four in overtime and that came with 17 seconds left and Houston missed a three from Chandler Parsons and that kept the team up after LaMarcus Aldridge picked up the rebound and that got him a double-double in the game with 29 points. The Blazers got the benefit of a bad call in the overtime period and that led the team into a 7-0 run and LaMarcus Aldridge hit a big shot down the stretch to keep the team up.

The game was close to ending, but the Blazers stole the ball from Jeremy Lin and that gave Mo Williams the chance to score a three pointer and that put Portland in the lead by one. The team was fouled after getting the ball back on a LaMarcus Aldridge block and the team put in one free throw to get the lead to two and the Rockets got the ball back with less than 10 seconds left and a chance to win or tie the game. James Harden drove to the basket and then left it for Dwight Howard and he tied it with a dunk and that gave the Blazers a final chance to get a play together.

Aldridge had another impressive game against the Rockets with 25 points heading into overtime and that came after he scored over 40 points in each of the first two games with 46 points and 18 rebounds in Game 1. Damian Lillard has played very well and he had seven assists heading into overtime, while Robin Lopez was leading with 11 rebounds. Dwight Howard had 14 points and 13 rebounds at that time and two players were tied leading with 26 points heading into the extra period and it came after the Blazers came back and outscored the Rockets in each of the last two periods.

The games on Sunday saw the Toronto Raptors tie things up with the Brooklyn Nets after winning at the Barclays Center, while the Washington Wizards took a commanding 3-1 lead against the Chicago Bulls after their win. The Raptors now will have the next game at home with the series tied 2-2 and DeMar DeRozan once again led the team i scoring after doing it for Toronto in each of the last two games. The Warriors won over the Clippers and that came after the comments from owner Donald Sterling and now there will be plenty of drama in LA for Game 5 on Tuesday and Sterling has been asked not to attend that game.
