Jameis Winston was cited for theft this week and he was charged with an adult civil citation after stealing crab legs from a market and now Winston will be the subject of a press conference on Wednesday at 2 pm and a live stream of the presser can be watched online and it will be about the situation and his suspension from the FSU baseball team and it likely will have nothing to do with the horrible behavior of the Tallahassee police during his rape investigation.
The press conference will be held by the Leon County Sheriff's Office according to Tomahawk Nation on SB Nation and that will be at 2 pm ET. The website writes that Winston has been suspended from the baseball team and that he will be fined and has to perform community service and with his luck, it also will be clear off his record if he complies with the punishment. Must be so nice.
Winston was previously investigated for rape, but the police basically screwed up every part of the investigation and also tipped him off on that he was being investigated and now he has escaped any punishment there and here he will get out of things again as long as he goes through with the community service. Last season Winston passed for over 4,000 yards and 40 touchdowns and he won the Heisman after police totally botched the investigation into his rape and since charges could not be filed, hey he's innocent right, so every sports writer voted for him.
Now Winston has been cited for stealing crab legs, yes you read that right and while this doesn't make him a rapist or a career criminal or anything like that, it once again shines a light on the entire situation and the hypocrisy of the NCAA, FSU and the Tallahassee police. The press conference likely will detail the situation and may also have information on exactly what happened and while Winston was cited for the theft.
Winston has pitched in 16 games for the Seminoles this season and he is 1-0 with a 1.50 ERA and he is also getting ready for spring practice with the team. Florida State has been accused of not handling the rape situation properly and while they deny that, it's pretty clear from documents and other reports that they messed up badly and naturally they feel no need at all to take responsibility for it.
