NBA Finals 2012: Game 5 Preview Will LeBron James and the Miami Heat Win?

Jun 21, 2012 09:47 AM EDT

The Miami Heat are just one win away from being named the 2012 NBA Champions.

In this series, they have played like a veteran team and have remained composed throughout the series. The Heat have been able to close out tight games and come from behind to win games.

Heading into the series, many thought the Oklahoma City Thunder were going to run the Heat off the court. Now, the only way the Thunder could win the series is by pushing a Game 7.

LeBron James and the Heat do not look like they are ready to let this happen.

They have made the Thunder look inexperienced as they have frustrated them and forced them to commit silly fouls.

The Heat have had a few calls go their way and many analysts say that the Thunder have not earned the respect of the officials to receive some of the fouls they have been drawing.

Kevin Durant said he was going to shoot his arms off in Game 4, but Russell Westbrook took this matter into his own hands.

He shot the ball 32 times, 13 more than Durant's 19 shots from the floor. Both players combined to score 71 points. The problem was that everybody else only chipped in 27 in Game 4.

It will be very difficult for the Thunder to win with just two active offensive players. Serge Ibaka and Thabo Sefolosha were scoring in the Western Conference Finals, or at least they had an impact in one or two games on the offense. James Harden has not been a factor at all.

The Heat will more than gladly give the floor to Durant and Westbrook. These players are dynamic but Miami believes that two players alone will not beat them, as proven in Game 4.

The Heat have been playing as a team and this was noticeable in the closing minutes of the fourth quarter.

Dwyane Wade was yelling at Shane Battier to get back down the floor instead of pressing up on the ball carrier as the Thunder brought the ball up court.

Battier had four fouls. The game was tight and time was ticking. The Heat could not have Battier in more foul trouble as his defense is vital to their success.

Wade only had two fouls and he wisely decided to guard the Thunder player. Little things like these do not show up on a stat sheet, but plays like this have showed the Miami are all on the same page and willing to win.

The Heat once again hold the advantage. It is Game 5 and they are at home. The Thunder already got off to a quick start in Game 4 and the Heat rallied back.

James might go Celtics-Game-6 on the Thunder and put this one away early.
