Wainwright is coming off at tough outing against the Chicago Cubs where he gave up 10 hits through five innings. He had been on a 25-innings scoreless streak prior to that. He is 7-2 with a 2.98 ERA against the Braves in nine starts. The Cardinals have lost the last four of five meetings against the Braves.
Atlanta will send Minor to the mound for his second start of the season after he started the season on the disabled list. He gave up two runs over six innings to the Giants, but thanks to a lack of support, got the loss 2-1. Minor has struggled with the long ball, allowing nine home runs in his last seven regular-season starts. In his career against the Cardinals, he has given up six home runs over seven starts. The Braves are looking to get back on top of the National League standings after a severe drop off with the losing streak. Their pitching is on point, but it remains to be seen if the bats can follow.
