The Boston Bruins and Montreal Canadiens are playing on the NHL playoffs schedule on Thursday night and the matchup has the Canadiens up 2-1 in the series and the game is streaming online with a live stream from the NBC Sports Network Live Extra website and starts up at 7:30 pm ET from the Bell Centre and this is a crucial matchup for the two sides.
The Bruins went down 1-0 in their last series against the Detroit Red Wings before storming back, but now they are in danger of going down 3-1 and that would be very tough to come back from against a goalie as good as Carey Price. The Canadiens have now lost just one game in the playoffs this postseason and that came after a sweep from the team against the Tampa Bay Lightning and now they are in position to take hold against the defending east champions.
The Canadiens come into the game after the 4-2 win and they have been playing very well in this series and Boston now has to try and adjust as they play in Game 4 and they need more out of their top players in Milan Lucic and Patrice Bergeron. The Canadiens have dealt with playing from behind and they blew leads in the first game before winning in overtime and now they have the chance to take a commanding lead in the series and that would mirror what the Penguins have done against the Rangers.
So far in the playoffs the Bruins have been getting good play from the net with Tuukka Rask and Lucic is leading the team in scoring with four goals, while Patrice Bergeron is tops in assists and points and he also has been the leading shot taker for the team. P.K. Subban has had a breakout series and a breakout playoffs, as he scored the winner in the first game and he is tops in assists and points, while Rene Bourque is leading in goals and shots and he has to continue playing that style for the team to keep going.
The Bruins come into the game after ranking in the top three during the season in scoring and goal allowed and now they are looking to continue that into the playoffs. The team has a fantastic penalty kill and that could come into play on Thursday and so will the line changes from Claude Julien. The Canadiens have been scoring more in the playoffs than they did during the season and the penalty kill has been great as well and so has Price, who has shown why he is one of the best goalies in the NHL. Rask and Price have both been putting up some great performances and who can hold things out the rest of the series will likely decide who advances.
