The Indiana Pacers found their form in Game 2 against the Washington Wizards. More importantly, Roy Hibbert found his form after several terrible showings in the postseason. Now the team looks to keep the momentum alive as they head on the road to Washington with the goal of taking a lead in the series.
Hibbert looked like an entirely different player in Game 2. After putting together a zero points, zero rebounds performance in Game 1, Hibbert bounced back shooting 10 for 13 and finishing the night with 28 points and nine rebounds as Indiana got the close win at home. He managed to hit a buzzer beater shot and turn a 3-point play into five points to secure the Pacers victory. He is the fifth player in NBA history to have a no points game in the postseason to posting at least 28 points in the followup. The Wizards expect Hibbert to have the same type of energy in Game 3.
The All-Star suggests Game 2 was just the start. That is a good thing for Indiana considering in the team's first eight postseason games he had a total of 37 points, averaging 4.6 a night. He is the main reason the Atlanta Hawks took the Pacers to seven games and why the Wizards have the confidence they can beat the Eastern Conference's best team.
On the other side of the court, John Wall claimed Game 2 was the worst performance the Wizards had put up in the playoffs so far. As a team, Washington made just 5 of 21 3-point attempts while hitting just 5 of 12 free throws. They failed to convert on the fast break, something that was their strength in Game 1. The Wizards are hoping to take advantage of the series shifting back to Washington as there is no doubt the home crowd will be tough for the Pacers to deal with.
