Steve Nash said he would consider the New York Knicks if they made an offer.
The All-star point guard is a free agent and the 38-year-old admitted New York would be an option. Speaking at a promotional event in Manhattan, Nash told ESPNNewYork: "The Knicks are a great franchise and I live in New York City (each summer), so I'd definitely consider them if they were interested."
With Jeremy Lin's future still uncertain, although is understood Lin will most likely stay in New York, the Knicks could use an experienced point guard to guide their team. There is nobody better than Nash to orchestrate an offense that includes the likes of Carmelo Anthony and Amare Stoudemire, Nash's former team-mate with the Phoenix Suns. New York, however, will find it difficult to find cap room for the former Suns and Mavericks player.
Nash said he would like to play on for three more years, at which he will be 41 years old. The point guard admitted to keeping his options open. "I want to wait and see what's actually on the table," he said.
"I'm open and excited. I'm looking at every possibility right now. It sounds like there are a number of teams that are interested."
Nash has previously been linked with a move to the Miami Heat, Orlando Magic and the Dallas Mavericks, with the Brooklyn Nets also a possibility.
At the same event, Knicks legend Walt Frazier lent his weight to a move to New York for Nash, saying: "We need you to come to New York!"
