Germany and Poland are playing a World Cup international friendly for 2014 and the match come streaming online from ESPN and the WatchESPN website and will be airing on ESPN3.com and it's live at 2:45 pm ET from HSH Nordbank Arena and is the first of two more matchups for the German side ahead of Brazil and this will be a good test for both sides leading into the summer.
Germany are one of the favorites to move on from the Group stages and right now they are in one of the toughest groups, as they have the United States, Ghana and Portugal with Cristiano Ronaldo to deal with the group of death. Former coach Jurgen Klinsmann is with the US now and they are looking for a strong performance and so are the Germans, who have Lars Bender, Lukas Podolski and Thomas Müller as the leading scorers coming into the Cup.
The team last played against Chile and that was back in March and the team won that Friendly 1-0 and now they are matching up against Poland. Cameroon is another World Cup team and they play against them on June 1 just a couple weeks before the Cup starts and that will be at Borussia-Park. The team then has their last friendly the week before the Cup and that will be against Armenia at Coface Arena on June 6 and then the tournament begins on June 12 with Brazil playing.
Germany opens their play with Portugal first and that will be a very tough match and that comes 10 days after their final friendly and that will be at 12 pm noon and will be on June 16 from Arena Fonte Nova. The next game against Ghana comes from Estadio Castelão later in the week and then the team will deal with the United States and that will be a tough match on both sides and that comes on Thursday June 26.
Poland comes into the match after last playing against Scotland and they are matching up with Germany for this game and then against Lithuania at the National Stadium in Warsaw next. Robert Lewandowski is the best player for the team and he missed that last match and he will not be around, as the DFB Pokal is this weekend and he has to concentrate on that. Germany coach Joachim Low will also have to be creative, as most of the team will not be there as well while dealing with games for Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Real Madrid and Arsenal and that will make things tough, but it also gives extra experience to the back end of the roster and that could come in handy later in the Brazil tournament.
