We are just over 24 hours away from the US Olympic Swimming trials in preparation for London 2012.
Leading the way for the US Team in his farewell tour is Michael Phelps.
Phelps already possess 14 gold medals, eight of which he won in Beijing 2008, and he will only be 27-years old entering the 2012 Olympics.
Phelps changed the sport of swimming and brought it to an international scale. It became the sporting event everybody wanted to see in the 2008 Olympics.
Now, entering his possible last Olympic trials, Phelps will look to be a part of the London 2012 team.
The good news for the US Team is that they have a lot of young talents taking the baton after Phelps retires.
In 2012 Phelps will be 31. By that time, young David Nolan will be the bright star in the US Olympic team.
He is only 19, turning 20 in December, and has already posted faster swimming speeds than a 19-year old Phelps.
So it seems like Phelps can retire knowing that the US swimming team will be in good hands after he is gone.
The Olympic trials are set to begin on Monday, June 25th and will go until July 2nd.
Phelps will participate in 7 trials in hopes of finishing his career with 21 gold medals.
