Andre Johnson Trade Rumors: Oakland Raiders, Patriots, Cleveland Browns, NY Jets, Indianapolis Colts, 49ers Best Options For Deal?

The Houston Texans and Andre Johnson could be moving towards a trade for the WR and teams like the New England Patriots, Cleveland Browns, NY Jets, Indianapolis Colts, San Francisco 49ers or Oakland Raiders could be good fits for the veteran wideout, as he is frustrated with the 2-14 record from last season and the quarterback situation with Tom Savage and Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Johnson has not come out and demanded a trade, but he has made his frustrations known and said that he was not sure about whether he wants to return to the Texans. The wideout has stayed away from team activities and workouts this offseason and while new head coach Bill O'Brien said that all conversations between the two have been positive, the team may have a major decision to make. Johnson has been fantastic his entire career in Houston and now he is 32 years old and is coming off of a 2-14 season.

Johnson said he was frustrated with the way the team took a major step back last season after winning the division the previous year and he also spoke about getting a new head coach and the fact that the team is rebuilding a bit. The Texans won their first two games last season in exciting fashion and then went on to lose 14 straight games the rest of the way and that got the team the first overall pick in the draft. Johnson has not said outwardly that he is demanding to be traded, but the writing is on the wall for now and the Texans have a major choice to make, as they could get a solid draft pick or player for Johnson in a deal.

Johnson put up great numbers last season despite playing with a terrible Matt Schaub and an undrafted rookie in Case Keenum and that has been in line with his career numbers, including last season when he put up some of the best stats of his entire NFL career. Johnson is still one of the most explosive receivers in the league despite his age, as he had over 100 catches for 1,407 yards and five touchdowns last season while playing with bad QBs and now he could be on the move. The Texans aren't necessarily rebuilding yet since they were just playoff contenders two years ago and now the team has a big decision to make.

The Texans have Tom Savage and Ryan Fitzpatrick and that is part of the reason why Johnson wants out, while he also has been away from team activities this offseason. Johnson was originally a first round pick in 2003 and he has been a good citizen for the majority of his career.
