The Memorial Tournament is into the final round on Sunday on the PGA Tour schedule and the golf tournament had Bubba Watson leading coming into the day and he was atop the leaderboard with the best score and had Adam Scott chasing him in the top five at Muirfield as things pick up.
The Memorial had Watson storm back on Saturday and he put up his third straight score in the 60s and that put him up front and he is 12 under for the tournament coming into the final day on Sunday. Watson has played well on the par five holes and he is leading Scott Langley and Phil Mickelson is down on the leaderboard and dealing with a big story about possible involvement in and insider trading case and that could affect him greatly heading into Sunday and the rest of this schedule into the US Open. Mickelson put up a 72 on the day and needs a huge move on Sunday to get back into things.
Jordan Spieth is tied with Charl Schwartzel and Byron Nelson winner Brendon Todd at eight under and now Watson comes in after previously winning at Augusta and he could have another win under his belt come Sunday. Rory McIlroy is chasing after he won on the European Tour last week and he comes in after his breakup with Caroline Wozniacki and now Tiger Woods is officially out of the US Open with his back injury and could miss more of the year on the schedule, including the next two majors and he has no set return date. Woods last won a major in 2008 and that was the US Open and now he will miss time with another injury.
Watson had another strong day and he had some great shots on the greens and now he just needs to play his game and he could end up winning. Mickelson is going to be under the microscope on the final day of the tournament and someone like Scott could make a run and he came in as the number one player in the world and he was able to take that from Woods with him out of action. Scott has played very well this season and now Watson comes in looking to add another win.
