The NBA Playoffs standings into the finals 2014 are reset as the Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs get ready for a championship rematch and LeBron James knows he has to prepare for Tony Parker even if he is out for Game 1 of the series on Thursday with an ankle injury and things pick up on the schedule live at the AT&T Center as James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh matchup with Tim Duncan, Parker and Manu Ginobili.
The Miami Heat and spurs each finished their conference finals series in six games and Miami advanced over the Indiana Pacers after demolishing them in Game 6, while the Spurs were able to win over the Thunder in overtime to take that series 4-2. Now both teams are looking to hold things together as they play the finals and this time around the Spurs said they will not let things get away from them. Last year the Heat won the series with an amazing comeback in Game 6 with a shot from Ray Allen before winning in Game 7, but now the series will be in san Antonio if it gets that far.
The format last year still had the 2-3-2 and now the league goes to the 2-2-1-1-1 format and that actually could benefit the Heat after getting home court last season. Miami knows what's at stake, as they became the first team since the 1980's to get to four straight finals, matching the Celtics and Lakers and now they are going for their third straight championship. Miami won over the Thunder and Spurs after losing three years ago to the Mavericks and since that defeat against Dallas, no one has been able to eliminate the Heat.
The first game of the series is coming on Thursday night before Game 2 on Sunday and then Game 3 will be on Tuesday in Miami.
