The NBA Finals and playoffs schedule starts between the Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs on Thursday and the standings heading into Game 1 of the championship series are tied 0-0 as the playoffs continues at the AT&T Center with LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili in a rematch of the finals from last year.
The first game of the series is on Thursday, June 5 and starts up on TV from ABC and WatchESPN at 9 pm ET from San Antonio and one of the biggest changes from this year to last year is that the Spurs are the home team. Last season the format was 2-3-2 and that nearly allowed the Spurs to win the championship, but Miami was able to come back over the finals two games. Now Miami will not be able to do that, with the format going to 2-2-1-1-1 and if it gets to Game 7 again, this time it will be in Texas.
Last season the Spurs nearly had the championship won, but Miami kept battling back and after Ray Allen made his amazing shot in Game 6, the Heat closed things out to win in Game 7. The Heat and Spurs now matchup again in a great rematch and this could be one of the all-time best series in NBA history as legacies are on the line for Duncan and James.
