NHL Playoffs TV Schedule: Stanley Cup 2014 Finals Starts With Rangers and Kings Game 4 Wednesday

Jun 04, 2014 05:01 PM EDT

The NHL playoffs standings and schedule for the Stanley Cup finals in 2014 continues after Monday's loss and the Kings won for a 3-0 lead over the Rangers and now Game 4 comes on Wednesday from MSG after the Kings were better in the third game and now New York must bounce back from being down to get the series to 3-1 or they will lose the Cup and the finals and the game starts at 8 pm ET on NBC and streaming from the NBC Sports Live extra website.

The Game 2 matchup came with the Los Angeles Kings taking on the New York Rangers comes on Saturday for the most storied trophy in American sports and things pick up on the NBC channel at 7:15 pm ET for the second matchup at Staples Center as NY travels west to try and rebound after losing the first game of the series and it must be so easy to come back from deficits when the referees simply give your team goals and don't make the correct penalty calls.

The Rangers and Kings each come in after playing tough series in the conference finals and now they will start up the championship round in Los Angeles. The Kings had to win a Game 7 against the defending champion Chicago Blackhawks and now they are set up to be champions in two of the past three seasons after winning the Cup a couple years ago. The Rangers have not had that type of success, as they have not been to the Cup finals since 1994 and now they are back after a magical playoff run that saw the team beat rivals in the Flyers and Penguins before winning over the Canadiens.

The Rangers lucked out and did not have to face the Boston Bruins after losing to them last season and now they are travelling across the country to play against the Kings. The first game of the series comes from Staples Center on Wednesday and the matchup is on NBC and starts up at 8 pm and then the series takes a break for a couple days and picks up for Game 2. That matchup is also on NBC and will be coming after the Belmont coverage and that will be from Staples Center as well.

The big matchup is in Game 3, as the Stanley Cup finals return to the Garden for the first time in two decades and that matchup starts at 8 pm ET from MSG and will be on the NBC sports Network. The Game 4 matchup comes on Wednesday June 11 and that will be big for both teams, as the series could be a sweep for all anyone knows and the Cup could be in the building. Game 5 if necessary shifts back to LA with one day off in the middle, because the NHL is so much smarter than everyone else that they give the teams extra off days between two games that are in the same city, but not when the teams have to travel cross country and there is just one day off. The people in the NHL front office are just simply brilliant on that one.

The Rangers are the underdogs, but they like it that way and while Quick is a great goalie, the Rangers have Lundqvist and if he can play like he has through the postseason, New York can win the series. No one is really giving the team a chance, but that is exactly what they have been doing all playoffs and it will not bother the Rangers.
