The U.S Swimming Olympic team continues to take shape after the second day of trials in Omaha.
Three more finals took place today.
Dana Vollmer was the favorite to win the Women's 100M Butterfly as she broke the American record on Monday night.
She did not break any records tonight, but she finished in first place with a time of 56.50 and was followed by Claire Donahue.
Donahue finished 32nd in the 2008 Olympic trials. This time, she finished 2nd at 57.57 and will join Vollmer in London.
In the Men's 100M Breaststroke, the U.S. will be represented by Brendan Hansen (59.68) and Eric Shanteau (1.00.15) in London.
It is a big victory for Shanteau who was diagnosed with cancer four years ago. He battled back and is now in the U.S. Olympic team.
For the Women's 400M Freestyle, the U.S. will have Allison Schmitt, who blew out the competition and was able to hang on to first place, finished in 4.02.84. Right behind her was Chloe Sutton with a 4.04.18.
In the Women's 100M Breaststroke Semis, Rebecca Soni finished in1.05.82, the fastest time in the world this year for that event. Jessica Hardy finished right behind with a 1.06.88.
Breeja Larson 1.07 and Ashley Wanland 1.07.23 came in third and fourth after posting the best times in the first part of the Semis.
Annie Chandler, Micah Lawrence, Ellyn Baumgardner, Emily McClellan will join them in the Finals.
Semi-Finals for 200M Freestyle also took place tonight. The main objective in this race was to make it into the top eight for the Finals.
Peter Vanderkaay was a favorite to qualify after finishing first in the 400M Individual Medley Monday night.
Unfortunately, Vanderkaay finished fourth in this race and 9th overall with a time of 1.48.12.
Matt Mclean finished in 1.47.40 and Charlie Houchin swam a 1.47.69 to get into the 200M Finals.
Ryan Lochte and Michael Phelps lined up for the 200M Semis following the first eight.
About five players of the second bunch were tied at the halfway point.
Lochte posted a 1.46.25, while Phelps finished 1.46.27.
Conor Dwyer, Ricky Berens, Davis Tarwater and Michael Klueh will join those two tomorrow in the Finals for the 200M.
