The Phoenix Suns are coming into the offseason after just missing the playoffs in 2014 and they have big plans for the summer, as a Kevin Love trade or a deal for Rajon Rondo could be in the cards for Goran Dragic and this comes as the team is trying to figure out what to do with Eric Bledsoe, as he is set to be a restricted free agent and the team wants to keep him long term and will try and work out a contract with him.

The Suns just missed the playoffs in the west and that came after many predicted the team would finish near the bottom of the conference. According to ESPN.com, the Suns are in the mix for the Kevin Love trade and this is because they have prime currency in first round picks and that could interest the Timberwolves. Pro Basketball Talk reports that the Suns want to keep Bledsoe even though he is a restricted free agent and they plan on matching any offers that come in for him. The team wants to sign him without having to match an offer and General Manager Ryan McDonough said the team has a priority in keeping Bledsoe.

Goran Dragic was fantastic this season and he won the most improved player award for his performance and now the team could be shaping up to be a playoff team next season. The Suns flirted with a Pau Gasol trade during the season and that nearly went through before things broke down, but it was a sign that the team is willing to try and improve and build around the core they have.

Last season the Suns went 48-34 and they were one of the most surprising teams in the NBA and they ended up ranking seventh in the league in scoring. The team was 13th in rebounding despite trading Marcin Gortat and they also ranked 21st in points allowed and 29th in assists per game and now they have a core to build on for the future. The team acquired Bledsoe in a deal with the Clippers and that has paid off well and while they may lose him as a free agent, he established himself in Phoenix and he played well alongside Gortat.

Dragic had his best season and led the team in scoring and assists per game with 20 points and 5.9 assists and if he is back he will be the leader of the team. Mason Plumlee played well as a rookie and now the team has first round picks coming up in the next could drafts to continue adding talent. The team may not get the big star they wanted this summer, but the Suns have hope on the horizon and this could be the best Suns squad since Steve Nash left.
