The LA Angels and Cleveland Indians are playing live on the MLB schedule on Thursday and the game is streaming live from Progressive Field for an afternoon matchup as CJ Wilson and Justin Masterson hit the mound for the pitching matchup in the American League.
Mike Trout has been having another good season and Wilson comes in with a solid ERA and a 7-6 record for the Angels, who are in playoff position in the standings right now. The Mariners have played well this season behind the Angels and now they will try and continue things as they come into Cleveland. The Indians are even for the season, while the Angels are six games over .500 and this matchup ends the series after the game was postponed on Wednesday.
The Angels will next start a series with the Texas Rangers and they come into the game in second place in the division behind the leading Oakland Athletics. Masterson has been pitching well after a horrible start and he will be looking to get things in order for the Indians. The Angels have Garrett Richards going on Friday against the Rangers and the team comes into the game hitting the ball well, especially after Trout had two home runs and four RBIs in the last win over Cleveland.
The team is ranked fourth in the league in runs and slugging percentage and seventh in batting average and on base percentage. The pitching has been up and down and they rank 16th in ERA and fourth in BAA. The Indians are fifth in the league in runs and 14th in batting average and the team is also sixth in on base percentage and 13th in slugging and they have slowly been pulling out of an early season slump when they were last in the division. The Royals are leading the Central now over the Tigers and the Indians can keep cutting the lead.
