The World Cup 2014 schedule is live on Saturday with Argentina and Iran playing a Group F match and the game is on ESPN starting at 12 pm noon ET and has a live stream from WatchESPN online at Estádio Mineirão in Belo Horizonte as Lionel Messi and Argentina make their way towards the knockout stage round in Brazil.
Argentina is one of the favorites in the tournament along with Brazil, Germany, the Netherlands and France and they have the best player in the world in Lionel Messi, who scored in the opening game against Bosnia-Herzegovina. Cristiano Ronaldo is dealing with a knee injury and that makes Messi the top player in this tournament and his team should have Group F wrapped up soon. Argentina is a heavy favorite in this group and it is one of the easier ones in the draw and they could be a team that gets it done in South America.
No European team has even won when the tournament is on the continent and that also keeps Brazil in the mix and they are looking good heading into their final game. Argentina plays against Iran before matching up with Nigeria in Porto Alegre and Messi's team lucked out with their schedule, as Nigeria is the toughest team in the group for them and it could be meaningless if they get through to the knockout stage with a win against Iran. Messi is the most talented player in the tournament and he has already scored in one game and could be the major factor in this matchup and he will be front and center for Argentina.
Brazil, Germany, France and the Netherlands are all looking strong and Argentina will be an opponent no one wants to face in the knockout stages, as Messi can singlehandedly change the outcome of a game. Argentina played well and got the win against Bosnia and Herzegovina, but the team can play much better and they actually were outshot in the game despite having the majority of the possession and they had 12 shots compared to 16 and they ended up scoring two and Messi had one of them and he will be looking to add another in this game against Iran.
England and Spain have already been eliminated from the tournament and that is a big surprise, especially with Spain, as they were defending champions after winning in South Africa in 2010. Spain lost to the Netherlands first and then to Chile and they only scored one goal in those games and that was a very disappointing performance for the team, as they have talent and experience, but this time it wasn't enough and now they are done.
