The World Cup 2014 bracket from Brazil has a number of teams into the Round of 16 knockout stage, including Argentina, Costa Rica, the Netherlands, Chile and Colombia and on Sunday more teams can advance into the next round with results in the group matches and the draw for the elimination round begins after next week and all the game will be on ESPN.

Argentina made it into the knockout stages after a win against Iran on Saturday and it came in dramatic fashion, as Lionel Messi scored in extra time after the 90th minute to give the team a 1-0 victory. Argentina earned three points and that gave them the group lead with six points and they salvaged a very tough match against an Iranian team that played well on defense and kept Messi at bay for most of the game. Argentina won their first game against Bosnia and Herzegovina and they have their third matchup with Nigeria on Wednesday to complete the group stage schedule before playing in the knockout round.

The Round of 16 will begin on June 28 and those matches lead into the quarterfinals and those start up on July 4. The semifinals are on Jun 8 and July 9, while the finals game will be on July 13 and the third place game is the day before on the schedule. Costa Rica made a surprising run to the knockout round after winning their first two games and they have been very impressive, winning matches over two teams that have previously won World Cup championships. The team won over Italy and that came after Costa Rica won over Uruguay in their first matchup and England is the other team in that group and they are eliminated.
