The team is ranked 18th in runs and 26th in batting average and they are 28th in on base percentage and the team is ranked fourth across the board in BAA, WHIP and ERA, while the team is 14th in quality starts. The Boston Red Sox are coming in after winning against the Athletics and they are leading the AL West and the team is 23rd in runs and batting average after winning the World Series last season. The pitching has been solid and they are ranked 11th in ERA, while the team is seventh in quality starts.
Mike Zunino is leading the AL in home runs among catchers, while Dustin Ackley and Robinson Cano have been playing well, with the 2b leading the All-Star voting again. Cano is looking to get his fifth straight start on the AL All-Star team and he has been helping the Mariners stay in contention this season as they try and rebound under Lloyd McClendon.
